I Admit It, I Steal Maggie’s Food

Hello from Chloe, your Pedigree Ambassador!

As you know, I have the honor of being a Pedigree Ambassador however, I must tell you, there are times when my taste buds get the best of me and I do not deserve the honor of being a Pedigree Ambassador.

Just look at this video. I was caught, in the act of stealing Maggie’s Pedigree Dog Food. OH THE SHAME OF IT!

Now, I must answer for my actions. Please Katie, go ahead, ask away. Ask any questions you must. For I hang my head in shame!

Me: Now Chloe, you know it was not very nice of you to steal Maggie’s Pedigree food. What possessed you to do such a thing?

Chloe: I know, I know. I can’t believe you caught that on video. I am forever mortified. But if you must know, Maggie walked away from her food. It’s not my fault she left her scrumptious Pedigree Small Breed Dog Food just sitting there, waiting for someone to eat it.

Me: But you had your own Pedigree Large Breed Dog Food. Why didn’t you just walk away when you finished?

Chloe: Oh Katie! You are so naive when it comes to us dogs and our food! Do you not notice that I lick my bowl clean? I love the taste of Pedigree Dog Food and if there is a morsel left over I will find it and eat it. Even if I have to steal it. Did I just say that out loud?

Me: Yes, Chloe, you did.

Chloe: Well, you know if you publish that statement, I will be the laughing stock of the neighborhood! The other dogs will no longer hold me on a pedestal!

Me: Sorry Chloe, but you said it. I must say Chloe, your breath seems to be getting slightly better since you have started on the Pedigree Dog Food. I no longer have to wear a gas mask when you breath on me.

Chloe: Why thank you ~ I think. I do believe the Pedigree Dog food is helping my breath. Pepper, the dog from the corner, even came to my fence to chat with me! She still stood 2 feet away, but that is better than when she passed out because she was too close to me! And have you noticed my beautiful coat? Buck, the German Shepherd, commented the other day that my coat looked as shiny as a Honey Baked Ham right out of the oven!

Me: Now, now Chloe. Let’s not get too excited. But you know what else? I have definitely noticed a shine in your coat when we brush you. And your dandruff/dry skin seems to be improving too. So, let’s wrap it up Chloe. How do you like the Pedigree Large Breed Dog Food so far? And would you recommend it to your friends?

Chloe: Did you see the video? I would definitely say I like this food ~ and Maggie’s too for that matter! And yes, I would definitely recommend Pedigree Dog Food. As a matter of fact, when Pepper ran over the other day, I told her about the 3.00 off coupon for Pedigree. Maybe she will tell her mom.

Burdens Do a Body Good – Book Review

Honestly, when I read the title of this book, “Burdens do a Body Good” written by Michele Howe & Christopher Foetisch, I was thinking, “Are you kidding me? I don’t want the burdens I have and surely they are not doing me any good!”. But as I sat down to read this book, even before I finished the first page, I knew this was a book I wanted to read. No, needed to read.

About “Burdens Do a Body Good”:

“Being a woman in today’s world means wrestling—physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally—with lots of weighty struggles. Lifestyle mentor Michele Howe and orthopedic surgeon Christopher Foetisch offer a well-rounded “training manual” filled with inspirational insight and practical advice for handling life’s toughest battles with inner and outer strength. Thematic chapters begin with Howe’s trademark real-life vignettes and essays on personal and situational topics: loss, sorrow, aging, job displacement, divorce, parenting issues, financial setbacks, illness, and more.

Women will identify with the experiences of other women, and how each found and developed the emotional and spiritual strength to meet the challenges she faced. Foetisch then provides practical weight-bearing “exercises” for body and soul health, and information on staying strong and well, no matter your age or circumstances. Valuable take-away action thoughts, meaningful quotations, and concluding Scripture verses complete the “workout.”

I, for one, really enjoyed this book and it definitely came at a time where I really needed to read it. It is not so much about. “If you have this burden - DO THIS,” but more like, our actions and reactions towards certain life challenges can determine how we feel while going through that challenge and by just changing our perspective (or our reaction) may help us to get through those challenges a little easier.

Even small changes, like taking deep breaths, may ease anxiety when it rears it’s ugly head. It is a book that is a useful reminder of what we can do to help us through each day, it is not full of fancy, new fangled, tricks. It is real life examples of what we can do.

Each chapter ends with a “Takeaway Thought” (a one or two sentence synopsis of the chapter), as well as ” Weight Bearing Exercises”. These exercises are specific to each chapter and are suggestions of things you can do to help you through those particular life challenges.

For example, Chapter 15 is titled “Failure” and although the chapter itself talks about how we perceive failure, at the end of the book, some of the weight bearing exercises the authors give us include:

~ When setting a goal or objective, be specific as to what you are trying to accomplish or achieve.

~ Make sure your goal or objective is realistic and attainable.

~ Set a time frame to complete your goal.

~ Once you have set your objective, ask yourself why you are doing it at this particular time.

Then, each of the Weight Bearing Exercises have more detail included for each one.

This book is not just meant for women (or people) who are going through the worst of lifes challenges, at least that is my opinion. I think it would be a great book for any woman, at any age, because, WE ARE WOMEN. We feel burdens, anxieties, failures, on a daily basis and I absolutely would recommend this book to anyone.”

Sweet Treats for Mother’s Day – Shari’s Berries

“Maybe I can take the box in my room and lock the door, then no one can share this with me.” That is what I was thinking when I received the Cheesecake Trio & Full Half Dozen Giant Dipped Fancy Berries.

Seriously.

But, alas, the other reviewers in my house (Reece & Betsy) needed to try them as well. When I opened the box of dipped strawberries I was shocked at just how big they actually were. I know the description says “Giant” and they were not joking. These were literally the biggest strawberries I have ever seen! My kids and I actually split the first dipped strawberry. It was so rich and “chocolately” and the strawberry itself was super juicy!

Next, we shared one of the cheesecakes. All three included in the Cheesecake Trio & Full Half Dozen Giant Dipped Fancy Berries were absolutely delicious! I actually had to hide one to keep it for myself and everyday I was going and taking a bite or two until it was gone. I was sad when the last bite was gone.

I Am a Pedigree Dog Food Ambassador!

Or, shall I say, Chloe, my Golden Retriever is the Pedigree Ambassador!

She wanted to personally introduce herself:

Because Chloe is the Pedigree Ambassador, I will interview her for you so that you can find out just what she is doing!

Me: So Chloe, I hear your owner, me, has recently transitioned you over to Pedigree Dog Food. Prior to the changeover, can you tell me what the overall condition of your coat and health were?

Chloe: Why yes, thank you for asking. The switchover to Pedigree food went very smoothly. I was at 100% Pedigree Dog Food for Large Breeds at day 7 and I cannot tell you how happy I was.

As for my coat and health, lets look at the Four Universal Needs shall we?

Skin & Coat - My coat has always been a little on the dull, dry side. I am wondering how eating Pedigree will help me with that. You know, it is hard to go strutting the fence when my fur is dull!

Oral Care - Now, I really don’t want to admit this, but I suppose everyone already knows. My breath is so horrendous that if an intruder broke into the house all I would have to do is breath on them and they would run for their lives. Seriously. I am really hoping Pedigree will help me with this.

Digestion – My digestive system is completely normal. I use the grass on a regular basis with no problems. This is a little personal don’t you think, Katie?

Me: I am sorry Chloe, but we need all this information.

Chloe - All right then. Just please don’t let that kind of information out in the neighborhood. It could ruin my reputation. Ok, where were we? Oh yes, the 4th and final Universal Need…Immunity. I can honestly say I rarely get sick. I am in very good health.

Me: That’s great Chloe, thanks. Now, tell me, what do you think of the Pedigree name and brand?

Chloe: Oh, you know it is a name that I have heard all my life and I have always trusted the Pedigree name that is why it is an honor for me to be a Pedigree Dog Food Ambassador.

Me: Just a few more questions Chloe. Tell me, how did you like the new food and would you recommend it to your friends?

Chloe: Oh, my! I just gobbled the food down and am always searching for more. You are feeding me enough aren’t you?

Me: Yes, Chloe. You are getting the recommended amount for a dog of your size.

Chloe: Hmm…I am not so sure about that…But I suppose I believe you. Anyway, yes, I would definitely recommend Pedigree to my friends. As a matter of fact, Max came to the fence the other day and I told him all about it. It is too bad not all humans can understand dogs because he told me his dog food was bad. Would you mind mentioning Pedigree to his owner?

Me: Of course I will Chloe and thank you for your time. Is there anything else you would like to add before I let you go?

Chloe: Well, I do have a busy schedule of playing and sleeping today so it is time for me to go, but I would like to tell you about a couple of things.

Crest Pro-Health Invigorating Clean Multi-Protection Test Drive Follow-Up

As you know, I participated in the Crest Pro-Health Invigorating Clean Multi-Protection Rinse Test Drive Program. I used Crest Pro-Health Invigorating Clean Multi-Protection Rinse for a month. That is a pretty big deal for me, as I don’t generally use mouth wash. Not because I don’t want to or don’t like it, but because I never created the daily ritual of using one.

But now that I have been using it and I can say when I forget to use it, I can definitely tell a difference! But not only have I noticed a difference in my mouth, I have created a new, good, habit for myself!

Noticed:

My mouth/breath/teeth seemed to feel fresher for a longer period of time.
